Players have to be ‘alive’ to be able to shoot the digital flag from on top and then this changes the colour of the flag to their team colour in stages.

Known by console gamers as a Claymore Mine the device can be positioned to protect a part of the battlefield and then used when triggered to send out an infra-red pulse to eliminate player lives from the enemy team.
